Intersections Program Master Plan
 
Blueprints The Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) approved the original Intersections Master Plan in October 2002 and approved the updated Intersections Master Plan in November 2003. This process was created to more actively plan for needed intersection improvements. The analysis undertaken in this program narrowed down the 14,000 plus intersections in the county to a list of approximately 100, which were judged to be the highest priority. The Capital Improvement Projects were selected from this list of intersections, which were prioritized based on a ratio of the economic benefit to the traveling public divided by the costs of the improvements.

In general, projects are completed in the order of highest priority; however, projects are not always scheduled in the exact order of the benefit/cost ranking due to various reasons of constructability, feasibility, and coordination with outside agencies such as the Florida Department of Transportation.
