Pontoon Boat

An unlikely piece of equipment for use in Mosquito and Aquatic Weed Control, the Section’s Pontoon Boat is actually employed in still another facet of the operation: Marine Signage. This involves installation and maintenance of waterway safety markers in the Hillsborough River, alerting boaters to the presence of manatees and the need for reduced speed in these areas.

The 24-foot Starduster is powered by a 75 horspower Mercury outboard motor and has a draft of approximately 12 inches.
