Dale Mabry Highway and Humphrey Street Intersection (CIP #69600247 )

The proposed improvements will include one of the following alternatives:

• Alternative A : Includes the addition of one left turn lanes and one right turn lane for eastbound traffic on Humphreys Street. The addition of one left turn lanes and one right turn lane for westbound traffic on Humphreys Street. Sidewalks are upgraded to 6 feet wide and bike lanes are added to both legs of Humphrey Street. This alternative would require right-of-way from the north and south side of the roadway.

• Alternative B :
• includes the same improvements as Alternative A with the exception that right-of- way would only be required form the south side of the roadway.

• Alternative C : The no build option. Intersection will remain in the existing condition.  

For alternatives A & B the existing signal will be upgraded to a Mast Arm signal with pedestrian features. In addition, additional right of way will be required from commercial property owners adjacent to Humphrey Street for a designated pond site.

The PD&E Study Phase is expected to be completed by spring 2011.  The design phase will be complete in the summer of 2011.  Construction is anticipated to begin summer 2012, and would take approximately nine months.  The County’s budget for this project is approximately $9.3 million dollars.
