Florida House of Representatives - House Redistricting Committee

House Redistricting Update – June 6, 2011

Public Meeting Locations Finalized:
This summer’s public meeting schedule for redistricting has been updated and finalized at www.floridaredistricting.org.  Details about the meeting times, dates, locations, special accommodations, role of social media and more can be found at:

RSVP for Public Meetings:

Our friends in the Florida Senate created this helpful website to RSVP for this summer’s public hearings on redistricting:

RSVPing in advance of meetings is optional, but it does help us ensure that we adequately prepare for the number of Floridians who wish to present their ideas for redistricting.

Special Accommodations:
Persons in need of special accommodations (such as sign language, translation services or other accommodations) to participate in the meetings should contact the Florida House of Representatives’ Redistricting Committee at (850) 488-3928 or mydistrictbuilder@myfloridahouse.gov at least (5) business days before the meeting, in order that accommodations may be satisfied.

Persons wishing to make a brief presentation (such as 5 or fewer PowerPoint slides, or presentations of redistricting plans created by Floridians) will be accommodated to the best of our ability and the technology available at the host location of the meeting.  It is recommended that such persons also contact the Florida House of Representatives’ Redistricting Committee at (850) 488-3928 or mydistrictbuilder@myfloridahouse.gov at least (5) business days before the meeting, in order that accommodations may be satisfied.

Submitting Remarks Via Social Media:

Floridians unable to attend the meetings may still submit remarks via social media, by:

Social media comments will be entered into the public record of the meetings.  Time permitting, comments may also be read aloud at the meetings.

Meeting videos, podcasts, transcripts and other records will be available through www.floridaredistricting.org.

You can read more about meeting procedures, special accommodations, testifying via social media and more at: http://mydistrictbuilder.wordpress.com/2011/06/05/rsvp-for-summer-redistricting-meetings/
