Yes, if your business is within Hillsborough County ( even if your operate your business out of your home ) you must apply for an occupational license. Call ( 813 ) 635-5200 and they will give you the address of the office closest to you.

If your business is in one of the three cities in Hillsborough County ( Plant City, Temple Terrace or City of Tampa ) you must contact them to determine if you also need a license from them to operate your business.

2. I know you have to obtain Permitting / Zoning approval if your business is a store-front but my business will be in my home. Do I still have to obtain approval?
