Veterans Affairs is not accepting applications for 2011 due to an additional property tax exemption that military members may qualify for.  This exemption must be applied for through the Hillsborough County Property Appraiser.  Information on this new exemption, entitled Amendment 2: New Property Tax Exemption for Deployed Active Duty Military Personnel  can be found at www.hcpafl.org  You may also click here for details.

The Division of Veterans Affairs is currently accepting grant applications for 2010 deployments.  In order to qualify for the Combat Grant, you must have the following:

• Complete an Application for the Hillsborough County Active Military Combat Duty Grant
• Be deployed and in receipt of Hostile Fire/Imminent Danger Pay for a minimum of 45 days in the year that you are applying.  Leave and Earning Statements are necessary to meet this requirement.
• Own a home in Hillsborough County with Homestead Exemption in place for the same year that you were deployed.  Proof of this will be on your property tax receipt.
• Produce a "paid" property tax receipt. 
• Complete a Substitute W-9 Form
