Our Mission
Veterans
Affairs is a Hillsborough County agency that assists all Veterans,
their dependents and survivors in accessing federal, state, and local
benefits. The office staff supports and manages Veteran’s
activities within Hillsborough County and acts as a single point of
contact for outside government and private agencies concerning
veteran’s issues. The staff also provides outreach service and
support to residents in Assisted Living Facilities, Nursing Homes and
private residences.

Florida has
the second largest veterans population in the United States, and with
almost 100,000 veterans living in this area, Hillsborough County has
the fourth largest veterans population in Florida. The Hillsborough
County Veterans Affairs office serves an average of 33,500 clients
each year and, in partnership with cooperating agencies, assists them
with filing almost $22 million in federal claims.
