The Rear Admiral LeRoy Collins, Jr. Veterans Museum Committee and park rangers staff the building
and organize both exhibits and events. Archie, the museum curator, logs
and categorizes the displays and memorabilia and plans the next year’s
displays.
This is an all-volunteer
staff, and help is needed. If you or your organization are interested
in being on the museum committee and being a part of this special effort,
please call (813) 744-5502 or send at fax to (813) 744-5678.
You will be “welcome
aboard,” whether or not you are a veteran.
The Rear Admiral LeRoy Collins, Jr. Veterans Museum is a non-profit division of Friends of the Park, and because no
admission is ever charged at the museum or the park for exhibits or events,
we must count on support from the veterans of Tampa Bay and from the community
we serve.
The museum is open
on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and on patriotic holidays.
With new membership on the committee, it may be possible to open more
days each week.
