District 4 County Commissioner
Commissioner Michael Owen was raised in Brandon, Florida and still calls it home today. His devotion to our community runs deep, and he works to bring sensible solutions to individuals and small businesses in his legal practice.
Commissioner Michael Owen is a hometown business leader, and he attended a mixture of public and private schools in Hillsborough County as a youth. On a baseball scholarship, Commissioner Owen attended St. Leo College and later went to law school in the state of Michigan.
Commissioner Owen has been a small business owner in our community for over 15 years, employing residents of our community. He has prided himself in helping new business owners upstart their businesses and assists individuals in the protection of their assets through effective estate planning. Commissioner Owen also handles most any litigation related to real property whether it be residential or commercial related.
Through his consumer law practice and time serving in the Rotary, Tony Saladino Baseball Tournament Committee, Center State Bank Advisory Board, Angel Foundation Advisory Board, BSAC Board, Greater Brandon Chamber of Commerce Board and Center Place Fine Arts Board, Commissioner Owen has seen first-hand the needs of our community.
It is important to Commissioner Owen that his community thrives in small business opportunities. It is equally important that the local not for profits flourish along with our community churches. Commissioner Owen attends Arise Church in Brandon, and his faith is the cornerstone of his life. It is critical to Commissioner Owen that our Military Veterans obtain all they deserve for the sacrifices they make. Commissioner Owen provides free estate planning for Wills, Health Care Surrogate Forms, Living Wills, and Durable Powers of Attorneys for active military who are being deployed.
