This Board confirms the competency and integrity of applicants applying for mechanical certification in the County, and takes disciplinary action against those contractors that fail to comply with the Mechanical Code.

Membership:

The membership of this Board shall be comprised of seven members and two alternates appointed as follows:

• Hillsborough County Commissioners - 3 members, 2 alternates
• City of Tampa - 2 members
• City of Temple Terrace - 1 member
• City of Plant City - 1 member

Composition is specified as follows:

• 1 Mechanical Contractor
• 2 Class "A" HVAC Contractors
• 1 Class "B" HVAC Contractor
• 1 Florida Registered Professional Engineer qualified to work in the area of mechanical engineering
• 1 Mechanical Trades Representative
• 1 Sheet Metal Contractor
• 2 Alternate Members that must be knowledgeable and experienced in the technical codes of this board

Terms:

Members shall serve four year terms. Alternates shall serve two year terms.

Authority:

Hillsborough County Construction Code Ordinance 13-23, effective 8/23/13.

Financial disclosure required.
