Bonita Vista Force Main Replacement


Hillsborough County Public Utilities will be replacing approximately 1,750 feet of an existing 6-inch wastewater pipeline that runs along Bonita Vista Drive and the southern boundary of Golfwood Estates. The project will start at a connection point east of Bray Road and connect to an existing pump station located on Bonita Vista Drive.

Purpose of Project

  • The purpose of this project is to replace a deteriorating pipeline located in the drainage easement
  • The existing pipeline is over 47 years old and has no direct access for maintenance and repair
  • More reliable wastewater collection service
  • To avoid sanitary sewer overflow in wetland area (environmental impact)

What to Expect

Before Construction

  • You may notice surveyors in the neighborhoods around the project area

During Construction

  • Construction activities will occur between the hours of 7 AM - 5 PM,  Monday through Friday
  • Work crews will be in your neighborhood replacing the deteriorating pipeline
  • The work will involve heavy equipment and excavation, and will generate normal construction noise
  • Utilities will not be effected during construction of this project
  • All areas affected by construction will be restored to pre-construction or better condition

Cost & Funding

The estimated cost of this project is approximately $250,000 and is being funded through Hillsborough County Public Utilities’ Water Enterprise’s Capital Improvement Program (CIP).
