Land Use Studies may be completed to have a better understanding of how the existing land is developed in an area, how it may be developed in the future, and the impacts of the current and future land uses on the existing infrastructure, environment, and population.

19th Ave PLAT Study

  • Project description: The Preliminary Land use Assessment and Transportation study examines land use characteristics and economic, social, demographic and market trends along corridors that are planned for transportation improvements. The 19th Avenue corridor is being examined in a proactive way to achieve the best land use and community outcomes while recommending transportation infrastructure projects that are consistent with planned development patterns.
  • Location: The project limits are 19th Avenue from US Highway 41 to US Highway 301, with the study area encompassing the road plus an additional 1 mile surrounding buffer
  • Project status: This project is complete

Big Bend Road PLAT Study

E. 131st Ave PLAT Study

  • Location: The project limits are East 131st Street from North Nebraska Avenue to Bruce B Downs Boulevard, with the study area encompassing the road plus an additional 1,500 foot surrounding buffer.

I-4 Environmental Assessment

  • Project description: This environmental assessment has been prepared to characterize existing environmental baseline conditions by identifying and scoring a suite of environmental conditions or characteristics with a nexus to land planning and development processes. The analysis and results illustrate the relative potential sensitivity to development of the area north of I-4 and east of I-75.
  • Location: The study area boundaries are Thonotosassa Rd to the north, SR 39 to the east, MLK East Blvd to the south, and the Alafia River to the west.

Wimauma Downtown Revitalization Action Plan

  • Project description: The Wimauma Downtown Revitalization Action Plan was created to implement the Community Plan that strategically lays out the foundational sequence of specific steps with timelines that are attainable to complete. These steps build upon each other and will help the community to move forward to make their larger vision a success.
  • Location: The study area is within the Wimauma Downtown Overlay District boundaries, outlined in the Action Plan and the Wimauma Village Community Plan
