What we do
Ensure our clients who require an accommodation, auxiliary aid or service for effective communication, or a modification of policies or procedures receive access to County programs, services, or activities. The County will provide access without a surcharge to an individual with a disability or any group of individuals with disabilities to cover the cost of providing auxiliary aids/services or reasonable modifications of policy.To request an accommodation, contact the County ADA Officer at least 5 working days prior to the meeting or event.
Respond to complaints of discrimination on the basis of disability in the delivery of County programs, services, or activities to qualified individuals with disabilities under title II of the ADA. Employment discrimination complaints under the ADA should be forwarded to the Equal Employment Opportunity Division.
The ADA does not require Hillsborough County to take any action that would fundamentally alter the nature of its programs or services, or impose an undue financial or administrative burden.
