What we do

Solid Waste Services oversees waste collection, disposal, and recycling in Hillsborough County. The department contracts with private companies for curbside residential and commercial service, and operates several centers throughout the county that accept trash, hazardous waste such as oil or electronics, and yard waste. The department also runs an innovative trash-to-energy plant.
