About the Hearing

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Hillsborough County is making it possible for interested parties to participate virtually in this public hearing by means of communications media technology.

Hybrid Format

Hybrid hearings may employ alternative formats and different procedures may be in place. As part of the hybrid format, virtual participation is encouraged as an equivalent to in-person participation. In order to participate virtually, you must have access to a communications media device (such as a tablet or a computer equipped with a camera and microphone) that will enable you to be seen (video) and heard (audio) by the Code Enforcement Board (CEB)/Special Magistrate (SM) during the public hearing. If you wish to participate virtually, it is required that you complete a Public Comment Signup Form.

While virtual participation is encouraged, in-person participation is also available. Remember, the format and procedures for in-person participation may differ from a traditional hearing. If you wish to participate in person, you are encouraged to complete a Public Comment Signup Form in advance, however it is not required.

Rules during the hearing

The Code Enforcement Board/Special Magistrate will call cases by party name in the order in which they appear on the agenda. Presentations by the County, Respondent(s) and Opposition must be kept to a maximum of ten (10) minutes each. The Magistrate may recess at 12:30 PM and reconvene at 1:30 PM to conclude its business if needed.

Evidence and Documentation

Should you opt to participate virtually in this public hearing, you will be able to provide oral testimony to the CEB/SM, but you will be unable to submit documentary evidence during the public hearing. Therefore, if you opt to participate in this public hearing virtually, you must submit any documentary evidence you wish to be considered by the CEB/SM to the staff of the Citizen Boards Support at least five (5) business days prior to the hearing.
