High Water Levels

Due to high water levels, the Alderman's Ford Conservation Park canoe launch is temporarily closed. The launch will re-open as soon as the water recedes. For more information and updates, please call the park office at (813) 757-3801.

About

Alderman’s Ford Preserve is 985 acres that serves as a portion of the South Hillsborough Wildlife Corridor, and provides a connection between other publicly owned lands along the Alafia River.

Natural habitats within the site include:

  • bottomland forest
  • seepage slopes
  • creeks
  • xeric hammock
  • remnant sandhill
  • pine flatwoods

Listed animal species, including Sherman’s fox squirrel, sandhill crane, and gopher tortoise are also known to be residents on the site.
