Upcoming temporary closures due to parking lot improvements
This preserve will be temporarily closed on June 23, and again on July 1 while we make improvements to the parking lot. It will re-open on the following days. For more information and updates, please call the administrative office at (813) 672-7876.
Alderman’s Ford Preserve is 985 acres that serves as a portion of the South Hillsborough Wildlife Corridor, and provides a connection between other publicly owned lands along the Alafia River.
Natural habitats within the site include:
- bottomland forest
- seepage slopes
- xeric hammock
- remnant sandhill
- pine flatwoods
Listed animal species, including Sherman’s fox squirrel, sandhill crane, and gopher tortoise are also known to be residents on the site.
