The Balm Boyette Scrub Preserve will be closed to the public for a fire rescue training exercise all day on Monday, October 26. This includes the parking lot and all of the mountain bike trails
The Balm Boyette Scrub Nature Preserve is 5,723 acres. The preserve is best known for its 25 miles of mountain biking trails which provide something for everyone from novice to expert riders.
The preserve's significance extends beyond its recreational use. The preserve is also home to more than 800 acres of intact scrub habitat. This rare and declining habitat supports many protected plant and animal species, many of which cannot survive without it. These species include the Florida golden aster, Florida scrub-jays, indigo snakes, and gopher tortoises.
