Hillsborough County to Hold Wheelchair Football Clinic

Hillsborough County, Fla. (Jan. 10, 2019) - Hillsborough County Parks & Recreation and Paralympic Sport Tampa Bay will hold its first-ever wheelchair football clinic on Saturday, Jan. 12, at All People's Life Center.

The free clinic will cover explanation of the sport, drills, and game play. The rules of wheelchair football allow participation by residents of all physical abilities, including those with a limited range of motion. Teams start six players on offense and defense.

The three-hour clinic begins at 9:30 a.m. at All People's Life Center, 6105 E. Sligh Ave. in Tampa. In addition to teaching the fundamentals of wheelchair football, the clinic will serve as a means to gauge community interest in the sport, with the possibility of creating a team in the future.

Those interested in attending are asked to RSVP to SchillaceC@hillsboroughcounty.org.
