Got a Suggestion on Affordable Housing? Hillsborough County Wants to Hear it

Hillsborough County, Fla. (Jan. 28, 2019) - Hillsborough County has budgeted an additional $5.1 million this year to help address the shortage of affordable housing and is asking residents for input on how best to spend the money.

Hillsborough County Affordable Housing Services will hold a public forum at 6 PM on Tuesday, Feb. 5 at the Robert W. Saunders, Sr. Public Library, 1505 Nebraska Ave. in Tampa. Residents are invited to comment on the community's affordable housing needs and offer their input on potential solutions.

Hillsborough County wants to know residents' opinions on strategies such as down payment or rental assistance, subsidized housing projects, tiny homes, zoning restrictions, co-living arrangements, and other options. The County will use the information collected from the meeting to help create a plan to make meaningful improvements related to affordable housing.

Residents are encouraged to register before the meeting. For additional information, call (813) 274-6680.
