Multiple Events to Honor African American Culture Contributions

Hillsborough County, Fla. (Feb. 20, 2019) - Hillsborough County's annual Black Heritage Celebration will be twice as much fun this year with events in downtown Tampa on Feb. 21 and in Brandon on Feb. 28.

The Feb. 21 Black Heritage Celebration highlights the achievements of African heritage and culture and features food trucks, entertainment, music, and dancing. The event will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Joe Chillura Courthouse Square, 600 E. Kennedy Blvd.

The Feb. 28 Black Heritage Celebration caters to seniors and includes live entertainment, food, dancing, and door prizes. In addition, the semi-formal event includes the Hillsborough County Black Heritage Committee Legacy Award presentation, and a renewal of vows for a couple who has been married for 55 years. The celebration will be from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at The Regent, 6437 Watson Road in Riverview.
