Hillsborough to Tackle Trash, Illegal Dumping in Deerfield, Twelve Oaks

Hillsborough County, Fla. (July 25, 2019) - Illegal dump sites and code violations can affect health, safety, and property values throughout a neighborhood.

Beginning Saturday, July 27, Hillsborough County Code Enforcement will host a Fight the Blight Community Cleanup in Deerfield and Twelve Oaks. Residents in those areas can discard unwanted furniture, junk, trash, debris, metal, electronics, and tires at no cost at a centrally located disposal site at Shimberg Sports Complex, 7309 Baseball Ave. in Tampa.

With the help of a Lightning Loader - a large debris-clearing vehicle - the County will dispose of the items for free. Items can be brought to the disposal site between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 27, and from July 29-Aug. 3. The site will not be open on Sunday, July 28.

Code Enforcement encourages residents to take advantage of the free community cleanup and restore their property to avoid code violations. Yard waste, commercial vehicle tires, and hazardous chemicals will not be accepted. For more information, call (813) 352-2473.
