Hillsborough Seeks Public Input on Intersection at Gunn Hwy, Anderson Rd. and Lynn Turner Rd.
Hillsborough County, Fla. (April 1, 2021) - Hillsborough County is seeking input from the public on the proposed design for an intersection improvement project at Gunn Highway where it connects Anderson Road and Lynn Turner Road.
The roadway operations and safety project is located in the Citrus Park/Carrollwood area and is designed to improve transportation mobility and safety for motorists and pedestrians. Residents and commercial property owners can visit HCFLGov.net/HCEngage at any time from April 5 through April 19 to learn more about the project and offer comments.
The project consists of widening part of Gunn Highway to allow for dual eastbound left turn lanes. Lynn Turner Road also will be widened north of Gunn Highway to accommodate the capacity of vehicles entering the roadway.
The project also will entail converting an existing northbound right turn lane on Anderson Road to a shared auxiliary through and right lane for two effective northbound through lanes. In addition, due to safety concerns and crash history, the median on Lynn Turner Road south of Barrett Drive will be modified to eliminate left turn access into and out of the commercial plaza. The project also will include drainage improvements along Lynn Turner Road to reduce localized flooding and improve roadway safety for all users.
Public Meeting Information
In place of in-person public meetings, the County will conduct a virtual engagement using The Hillsborough Engagement Hub to collect feedback from the public. Public comment for this project is open between April 5 and April 19 at 11:59 p.m. Visit HCFLGov.net/HCEngage to participate.
