Hillsborough County Conducting Citizen Survey Starting this Week
Hillsborough County, Fla. (April 27, 2021) - Hillsborough County residents soon will have the opportunity to weigh-in on key quality-of-life areas and express their level of satisfaction with local government services through the 2021 Hillsborough County Citizen Survey.
Starting tomorrow, Wednesday, April 28, a randomized sample of Hillsborough County residents - including those who live within the city limits of Tampa, Temple Terrace, and Plant City - will begin receiving phone calls for their participation in the anonymous survey.
The County will use the findings of the 2021 Hillsborough County Citizen Survey to help inform local government operations by gaining insights into areas residents think are most important. Responses also will be used to evaluate how residents' current priorities and satisfaction levels compare to those reported in the 2019 survey. To ensure that survey responses are reflective of Hillsborough County's demographically diverse population and are statistically accurate, third-party survey professionals will conduct the telephonic study.
The telephonic survey is designed to capture a holistic assessment of various aspects of life in Hillsborough County, including:
- Local economy
- Public safety
- Life enrichment/recreational opportunities
- Self-sufficiency programs for individuals and families
- High-quality community assets
In addition, the County plans to launch an online companion survey that will encourage all residents to participate and provide feedback on the same key areas of focus. While not statistically accurate, the opt-in feature provides Hillsborough's nearly 1.5 million residents the opportunity to have their voice heard. The County expects to launch this companion survey in mid to late May.
