Hillsborough to Pick Up Unwanted Items in Temple Park, Riverdale

Fight the Blight effort allows residents to save a trip to the landfill by putting furniture, debris at curb

Hillsborough County, Fla. (July 22, 2021) - How a community looks can impact how residents feel. Illegal dump sites and code violations can affect health, safety, and property values throughout a neighborhood. To help prevent this, Hillsborough County's Rapid Response Team is offering free curbside pickup in the Temple Park and Riverdale area for items that normally would require a trip to the landfill.

From Saturday, July 24 to Saturday, July 31, Hillsborough County residents who live in the area can put furniture, junk and debris, metal, electronics, and up to five non-commercial tires at their curbside, and the Rapid Response team will haul away the materials for free. Items must be placed out by 5 a.m. on the days of collection; placement the night before is recommended.

Free disposal is open to residents who live within the following boundaries:

Temple Park subdivision: South of Temple Terrace Highway off Temple Park Drive

Riverdale subdivision: South of Harney Road off Steamboat Lane

Code Enforcement encourages residents to take advantage of the free disposal and restore their property to avoid code violations. Yard waste, commercial vehicle tires, and hazardous chemicals will not be accepted. For more information, call (813) 352-2473.
