Hillsborough County Fire Rescue Seeks Public Input on New Fire Station in South Progress Village

Hillsborough County, Fla. (Sept. 3, 2021) - Hillsborough County is seeking input from the public about the proposed location of a new fire station to serve the residents in the South Progress Village area of the county.

Residents and commercial property owners can visit the Hillsborough Engagement Hub any time until Monday, Sept. 20 to learn more about the location being considered, view site maps, participate in the virtual public engagement, and offer comments on the proposed site.

Hillsborough County Fire Rescue expects that response times in the South Progress Village area could shrink by several minutes when the new station comes online. The County uses response times to help determine which areas are most in need of additional service.

The County's master plan calls for more than 20 new fire stations in the coming decade in order to continue providing quality service to residents.

Public Meeting Information

The County will conduct a virtual engagement using the Hillsborough Engagement Hub to collect feedback from the public. Public comment for this project is open until Monday, Sept. 20 at 11:59 p.m.

Residents without digital access are encouraged to call (813) 272-5900, the County's main information line.
