Hillsborough Adult Day Services Hosts Programs to Recognize National Adult Day Services Week
Hillsborough County, Fla. (Sept. 17, 2021) - Next week is National Adult Day Services Week, and Hillsborough County Adult Day Services will recognize its staff, clients, and caregivers with activities and programs from Sept. 20-23.
The planned programs will promote and celebrate the role of Adult Day Services in the daily lives of older adults. Adult Day Services provides comprehensive health services, social services, supportive services, and therapeutic services to older adults in Hillsborough County. The services also aid caregivers who dedicate their time assisting older adults.
Adult Day Services Week programs include:
- Adult Day Services Celebration from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 20
- Presentation on Person-Centered Care Approach from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 21
- Fall Prevention Day presentation on How Falls Can Be Prevented from 11 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Sept. 22
- Mind Diet Cooking demonstration and presentation from 11 a.m. to noon Thursday, Sept. 23

Former President Ronald Reagan proclaimed National Adult Day Services Week in 1983 with the goal to raise awareness of the availability and accessibility of adult day services programs throughout the country. With the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic, the challenges for older adults and their families have been even greater.
