Tampa Bay Teen Lit Fest Hosts Bestselling Authors During October

Hillsborough County, Fla. (Sept. 21, 2021) - Young adult readers will get the chance to hear from and speak with popular authors during Tampa Bay Teen List Fest, which kicks off virtually on Friday, Oct. 1 and offers a new live session each Thursday through Oct. 28.

Hillsborough County Public Library Cooperative organizes the festival, which gives readers a unique opportunity to get up close and personal with critically acclaimed authors of young adult fiction. Five weekly live sessions will feature a dozen authors from a variety of genres. Attendees will get the chance to ask questions, receive writing advice, hear personal insights, and even win autographed books from their favorite authors.

For the first time ever, the event will take place over several weeks. Register for any or all of the live sessions. The festival for tweens, teens, and adults is free, and you do not need a library card to participate.

Keynote speakers are bestselling authors Amie Kaufman and Meagan Spooner, who have written several books together, including the "Starbound'' and "Unearthed'' series and their latest series, "The Other Side of the Sky."

There will also be three panel discussions, including one with New York Times bestselling author and Florida native Romina Garber, whose latest young adult fantasy fiction series, "Wolves of No World," spreads awareness of the plight of undocumented immigrants. The panel discussions focus on a variety of topics, from real-world issues for teens to magical worlds inspired by well-known myths and stories.

New York Times bestselling authors Kimberly Jones and Gilly Segal close out the event on Thursday, Oct. 28. They coauthored NAACP Image Award-nominated novel "I'm Not Dying with You Tonight" and recently released "Why We Fly."

Look for these authors' works, as well as resources for young adult fiction readers and writers.
