Hillsborough's 57th Annual Veterans Day Tribute to Honor Service to Nation
Hillsborough County, Fla. (Nov. 4, 2021) - Hillsborough County Consumer & Veterans Services and the Veterans Council of Hillsborough County will host the 57th Annual Veterans Day Tribute at 11 a.m. Nov. 11 at Veterans Memorial Park & Rear Admiral LeRoy Collins, Jr. Veterans Museum, 3602 U.S. 301 N., Tampa, FL 33619.
The ceremony is a salute to all branches and eras of military service. The 2021 Veterans Day Tribute will include:
- Keynote speaker Maj. Gen. James S. Hartsell, executive director of the Florida Department of Veterans' Affairs
- Junior ROTC color guard and tributes from local high schools
- Veterans Council Awards
- Patriotic music and live acoustic entertainment from Guitars for Vets
- Light refreshments and camaraderie
Social distancing will be observed at the outdoor ceremony in accordance with Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines.
In service to the military community, the James A. Haley Veterans' Hospital mobile unit will be on site from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. offering free flu shots for Veterans only, and COVID-19 coronavirus vaccinations to Veterans, their spouses, or caregivers. Pfizer, Moderna, and Johnson & Johnson vaccines will all be available for first doses, second doses, and boosters with any follow-up doses to be given at James A. Haley Veterans' Hospital. Veterans who want to be vaccinated should bring identification, VA enrollment card, and COVID-19 vaccine cards as applicable.
For the fifth consecutive year, the Veterans Day National Committee of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs has named Hillsborough County's Veterans Memorial Park & Rear Admiral LeRoy Collins, Jr. Veterans Museum to its list of official Regional Veterans Day Sites, a recognition of excellence for patriotism and honor to our nation's military.
