Local Stories Live Event in May Features Three Dynamic Entrepreneurs in Celebration of AAPI Month

Hillsborough County, Fla. (May 10, 2022) - In celebration of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, Local Stories Live has a May lineup of some of Hillsborough's most dynamic entrepreneurs who lead growing companies.

The May session, Celebrating Asian American Entrepreneurs, will showcase local businesses owned and operated by Asian American business owners. The Local Stories Live series lets participants connect with local successful small business owners for lively discussions on what it takes to survive and thrive as a small business.

The panelists for this month's event operate a diverse palette of small businesses and all have ties to the military:

  • Valerie Ellis (Army veteran), Luminary Global
  • Tiger Lee (Army veteran), Pirate Fashions
  • Isabella Rosal (Navy spouse), 7th Sky

The County's Entrepreneur Collaborative Center (ECC) hosts the monthly live, in-person panel discussions, each focusing on a different small business sector, on the second Friday of each month at 9 a.m.

The 30-minute discussions feature three different local business leaders and will be followed by a brief question-and-answer period. Established business owners, entrepreneurs, and anyone interested in the local business community are invited to participate in the sessions and learn why supporting local makes all the difference in Hillsborough County. The panel discussions will also be available live on Hillsborough County's Facebook Page.

One of the most resounding messages of Local Stories Live is that business owners in Hillsborough County are not alone. The networking opportunities the series provides yield beneficial results that extend well beyond the events themselves. Connections made between business owners, who were previously strangers, create lasting collaborations and new peer-support networks for many panelists.
