Joe Chillura Courthouse Square is Temporarily Closed for Sod Replacement

Hillsborough County, Fla. (June 28, 2022) - Joe Chillura Courthouse Square, located at 600 E. Kennedy Blvd., Tampa, FL 33602, is closed starting today through July 21 for a sod replacement project.

Hillsborough County Facilities Management & Real Estate Services will replace the grass in the interior greenspace with new sod to improve the well-being of the outdoor space. The park sits across the street from the Old County Courthouse and provides tree-shaded benches, grassy areas, and a domed stage, as well as WiFi hotspot for the public.

The County has placed orange barricades around the perimeter of the park, as well as signage indicating the park closure. The sidewalk and street surrounding the park will remain open to pedestrian and vehicle traffic throughout the duration of the sod replacement project.
