Hillsborough to Break Ground on Ambitious Branchton Park Project

Hillsborough County, Fla. (Sept. 13, 2022) - Hillsborough County will break ground on Wednesday, Sept. 14, to mark the start of renovations that will make Branchton Park in Thonotosassa a regional destination.

The park will be expanded to 43 acres and will offer recreational opportunities to the 45,000 residents who live within a 10-minute drive from the park, and the revamped park is expected to draw residents from a much wider area.

The project will dramatically expand the park's amenities. Plans for the $6 million first phase call for four pickleball courts, a large playground and splash pad, walking trails, restrooms, and 70 parking spaces. Future phases will include dog parks for large and small dogs, an event pavilion, and additional walking trails, including boardwalks.
