Hillsborough County Celebrates National Adult Day Services Week

Hillsborough County Adult Day Services offers in-person and virtual programs to address common issues older adults face

Hillsborough County, Fla. (Sept. 15, 2022) - National Adult Day Services Week is Sept. 19-23, and Hillsborough County Adult Day Services is offering programs to benefit older adults and the residents who care for them.

Adult Day Services Week programs include:

  • 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20 (In-Person)
    A Matter of Balance, a program that educates seniors on how they can prevent falls. Phyllis Busansky Specialized Adult Day Center, 4102 W. Spruce St., Tampa, FL 33607.
  • 11 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Sept. 21 (Virtual)
    A World Alzheimer's Day presentation by Dr. Nicole Crawford, a licensed clinical social worker and owner of Keep Moving Forward Consulting, will address creating a community that is more friendly to people with dementia.
  • 11 a.m. to noon Thursday, Sept. 22 (Virtual)
    For Fall Prevention Day, which is recognized on the first day of autumn, Humana Registered Nurse Constance Newell will discuss how to identify risk factors to prevent falls.

The planned programs promote and celebrate the role of Adult Day Services in the daily lives of older adults. Adult Day Services provides comprehensive health services, social services, supportive services, and therapeutic services to older adults in Hillsborough County. The services also aid caregivers who dedicate their time assisting older adults.
