County Facilities Closed; Yard Waste Drop-off Locations Open; Trash Collections to Resume Pick-Up
Hillsborough County, Fla. (Sept. 29, 2022) - All Hillsborough County offices and facilities will remain closed to the public through Friday, Sept. 30 with the exception of Solid Waste, so County employees can continue to support emergency operations in response to Hurricane Ian. County employees are working to transition to normal business operations following Hurricane Ian.
Additionally, the County has four sites open tomorrow, Friday, Sept. 30, for disposal of residential storm yard waste debris and County Solid Waste Collections will resume normal operations tomorrow, Sept. 30.
Hillsborough County Facilities Reopening Status:
Parks & Recreation
Parks & Recreation facilities will reopen Saturday, Oct. 1. Athletic leagues also will resume on Saturday, Oct. 1.
Conservation & Environmental Lands Management conservation parks and preserves will remain closed until Monday, Oct. 3.
Hillsborough County boat ramps will open Saturday, Oct. 1, except for boat ramps at Conservation and Environmental Land Management parks.
Pet Resource Center
The Pet Resource Center will reopen Saturday, Oct. 1, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. for appointments and walk-ups.
Library Services
Library Services staff is continuing to assess and survey damage to library branches and will determine public reopening. Residents can visit HCPLC.org or follow @TampaHillsLib on Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube for updates.
Residential Storm Yard Waste Debris Drop-Off
There are four sites open tomorrow, Friday, Sept. 30, from 7:30 a.m. - 6 p.m. for disposal of residential yard waste debris that is a result of Hurricane Ian. Residents must show valid I.D. with Hillsborough County address to receive free disposal. Yard waste must not be bagged at drop-off locations.

Solid Waste Collections to Resume Friday, Sept. 30
Solid Waste Facilities will resume normal operations for regular curbside trash, and recycling pick-up on Friday, Sept. 30. Residents may see recycling trucks picking up garbage and garbage trucks picking up recycling on Friday, Sept. 30 and Saturday, Oct. 1 to quickly return to normal operations. Normal curbside residential yard waste collection will resume Monday, Oct. 3, however yard waste will only be collected in bags or containers limited to the normal 12 bags or containers per household.
