Hillsborough County Adult Day Services Hosts Health Fair and Open House on May 25

Hillsborough County, Fla. (May 19, 2023) - In observance of Older Americans Month, Hillsborough County Adult Day Services will host a Health Fair and Open House from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 25 at the Phyllis Busansky Adult Day Services Center, 4102 W. Spruce St., Tampa, FL 33607.

The Health Fair and Open House are free and open to the public. All the demonstrations and activities are geared to seniors and caregivers.

Scheduled activities include free health, memory, hearing, and vision screenings, chair yoga and other exercise demonstrations, cooking exhibitions, therapeutic and stress-relief gardening, and a presentation by a local psychologist on managing stress and life balance. There also will also be a number of exhibitors presenting health information to clients and caregivers.

Hillsborough County Adult Day Services offers comprehensive health, social, supportive, and therapeutic services for functionally impaired seniors in a community-based setting.

Adult Day Services has four locations in Hillsborough County, which include Tampa, Brandon, Plant City, and Wimauma. Each location is designed to help families whose loved ones wish to remain at home as long as possible but often struggle providing care.

Adult Day Services are for Hillsborough County residents ages 60 and older who have decreased physical, mental, or social functions. Each center offers nurses who provide health monitoring and counseling, therapeutic activities, nutrition counseling, social work counseling, meals and snacks, and assistance with medication administration.
