Hillsborough to Host Free Adult Caregivers Workshop to Introduce Local Services and Resources
Hillsborough County, Fla. (Nov. 14, 2023) - November is National Family Caregivers Month, and Hillsborough County's Adult Day Services is hosting a caregivers workshop to assist residents who provide care for an elderly person.
The workshop and program - Connecting Caregivers - is open to all Hillsborough County caregivers and will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 18, at the Wimauma Senior Center, 16621 Lagoon Shore Blvd., Wimauma, FL 33598. The program is free, and lunch will be provided.
This is an opportunity for caregivers to tap into the services provided by Hillsborough County's Adult Day Services and learn about supplemental resources that are available. Speakers will also present relevant topics important to caregivers. In addition, guests will see the newest Adult Day Care location in Wimauma, which it is co-located with the Wimauma Senior Center and Healthcare Services.

- Coping with Dementia, LLC
- Enterprising Latinas

Hillsborough County Adult Day Services aims to help families whose loved ones wish to remain at home as long as possible, but who struggle with providing care. Comprehensive health, social, supportive, and therapeutic services are offered for functionally impaired seniors in a community-based setting. The services are for Hillsborough County residents age 60 and older who have decreased physical, mental, or social function. Hillsborough County Adult Day Services has four locations: Tampa, Brandon, Plant City, and Wimauma.
