Applying for Health Care Assistance Now Easier than Ever
Applying for the Hillsborough County Health Care Plan (HCHCP) has gotten a lot easier for residents with the launch of the new HCHCP online client portal.
With the new portal, residents can apply directly online for the innovative health care plan, have more control over their application, and use a quicker, simpler way to upload needed documents. Residents who've applied for the HCHCP can use the online portal to track their application status and receive real-time account updates.
Current HCHCP members can proactively review and update their existing account information and complete the re-enrollment process.
Additionally, the HCHCP providers will also have easier access to assist HCHCP members through the online portal. Providers can check client eligibility and also assist with uploads for required documents and application submittal.
The HCHCP is a health care safety net for Hillsborough County residents who do not qualify for other health care coverage, including Medicare and Medicaid. The plan has been around for more than 25 years and began as revolutionary project to provide health care services to the working poor. Funded by a half-cent sales tax, the health care plan provides health care to those at or near the federal poverty level who are going without medical care. There is no cost to eligible members for services covered by the HCHCP, which includes doctor visits, hospital stays, and prescriptions.
