Hillsborough County Recognizes Zeta Phi Beta Day
During the Jan. 23 Board of County Commissioners meeting, the Board presented a proclamation to four local chapters of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.. For 100 years, the nonprofit organization has invested countless hours of voluntary service to educate the public, mentor young people, provide support for military and veteran programs, scholarships, and promote legislation for social and civic change.
Members of the Hillsborough chapters of the sorority - Tau Pi Zeta, Epsilon Beta Zeta, Nu Upsilon Zeta, and Beta Sigma Zeta - joined the presentation ceremony. After accepting the proclamation, Willette Hollinger, president of the Tau Pi Zeta chapter thanked the Board for its support.
"Many Greek organizations have stood before you to celebrate their centennial anniversaries, and all are to be applauded," she said. "Zeta Phi Beta Sorority takes pride in its continuing participation in transforming communities through our volunteer services from all our members and our auxiliaries. Our work is never done."
