Get Adaptive: Macaroni Art

Increase cognition and fine motor movements while also learning to spell words or draw shapes

Hillsborough County Parks & Recreation staff puts together an easy activity that will help increase cognition and fine motor movements while learning how to spell out words and pinching small items.

Materials Needed:

  • A box of Macaroni elbow noodles, or other small noodles
  • Cardstock or construction paper
  • Bottle of glue
  • Table/flat surface
  • Glitter (optional)

Now let's get going on our craft!

Step 1: Start with the cardstock/construction paper on the table.
Step 2: Next use the bottle of glue to write the first letter of your name or random word, or you can even draw a shape.
Step 3: Place the noodles on the glue before it dries. Repeat until your name, word, or shape comes to life with noodles.
Step 4: Add glitter while the glue is still wet, if interested.
Step 5: Let dry and now you have brand new noodle art!
