Gift Yourself with Water Savings All Year Long
The average family spends more than $1,000 per year in water costs but making small changes to use water more efficiently can net big savings on water and sewer bills.
Giving your home's main bathroom a high-efficiency makeover by installing a high efficiency toilet, showerhead, and faucet aerator can pay for itself in as little as one year. Hillsborough County Public Utilities customers can recoup their investment even faster by taking advantage of rebates to update high water-use items, like toilets. The rebates are available through the regional Tampa Bay Water Wise program.
Eleven regional rebates are available, including:
- High efficiency toilets
- Smart irrigation controllers
- Irrigation wells
- Commercial kitchen and bathroom fixtures and appliances
- Commercial cooling towers
- Builder incentives for new water-conserving construction
In addition to updating indoor plumbing fixtures and appliances, irrigation systems are a good place to look for quick water savings. Hillsborough County residents may qualify for a free irrigation system evaluation to identify irrigation inefficiencies and get recommendations for a more efficient system.
