Tampa Bay Teen Lit Fest Hosts Bestselling Authors During October

Readers converse with critically acclaimed authors of young adult fiction

Thursday nights in October just got much more fun thanks to Tampa Bay Teen Lit Fest, hosted by the Hillsborough County Public Library Cooperative. Through five virtual sessions, readers get the chance to hear from and speak with a dozen critically acclaimed authors of young adult fiction from a variety of genres. Tampa Bay Teen Lit Fest kicked off on Oct. 1 and offers a new live session each Thursday through Oct. 28.

Attendees can ask questions, receive writing advice, hear personal insights, and even win autographed books from their favorite authors. The event is free and attendees do not need a library card to participate.

The opening keynote speakers are bestselling authors Amie Kaufman and Meagan Spooner, who have written several books together, including the "Starbound'' and "Unearthed'' series and their latest series, "The Other Side of the Sky." New York Times bestselling authors Kimberly Jones and Gilly Segal will close out the event on Thursday, Oct. 28. They coauthored NAACP Image Award-nominated novel "I'm Not Dying with You Tonight" and recently released "Why We Fly."

There are also three panel discussions, including one with New York Times bestselling author and Florida native Romina Garber, whose latest young adult fantasy fiction series, "Wolves of No World," spreads awareness of the plight of undocumented immigrants. The panel discussions focus on a variety of topics, from real-world issues for teens to magical worlds inspired by well-known myths and stories. Register for any or all of the free live sessions.
