Board Congratulates Bolts for Consecutive Stanley Cup Wins

Hillsborough County Declares Oct. 20 as Tampa Bay Lightning Back-to-Back Champions Day

On July 7, 2021, the Tampa Bay Lightning made sports history by defeating the Montreal Canadians four games to one, winning the organization's second consecutive Stanley Cup Championship. The Bolts additionally broke numerous records, including becoming the first team since the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2016 and 2017 to win back-to-back Stanley Cup Championships and just the ninth team in NHL history to win consecutive Cups.

During the Oct. 20 meeting of the Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners, Jay Feaster, executive director of Community Hockey Development for the Lightning, and Casey Rodgers, CFO of Tampa Bay Entertainment Properties, were presented a proclamation declaring Oct. 20 as Tampa Bay Lightning Back-to-Back Champions Day.

Feaster thanked the Board and all Bolts fans for their unwavering support, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.

"I think that we are fortunate and blessed to live in Hillsborough County, and to have the kind of support that we do from the commissioners," he said. "We will do our best to continue to be worthy champions."

The Board also presented proclamations declaring Oct. 20 as Moffitt Cancer Center 35th Anniversary Day and October as Safe Sleep Awareness Month.
