The COVID-19 Pandemic and its Impact on Mental Health

Learn how to support your emotional well-being after years of uncertainty and social isolation Story:

With so much uncertainty over the past two and half years, the COVID-19 pandemic has wreaked havoc on people's mental well-being. The day-to-day changes the pandemic brought made many people rewrite the rules of their day-to-day lives and forced most people to socially isolate away from family and friends.

These challenges may have caused significant stress and not-in-control feelings that have lingering effects. But how do you work through those lingering effects? Tampa General Hospital Psychologist Dr. Seema Weinstein discusses the challenges faced during the pandemic and ways people can manage the stress they may still be feeling.

Hillsborough County's Mindful Mondays teamed up with Tampa General Hospital Psychologist Dr. Seema Weinstein and Senior Wellness Educator Holly Murphy to reduce the stigma surrounding mental health while helping residents find mental health resources, practice self-care techniques, and improve their overall wellness.
