Prevent Loose Yard Waste and Junk from Becoming a Storm Danger
Outdoor debris can become damaging and deadly projectiles during high winds. Prepare now for the upcoming hurricane season by disposing of yard waste and unwanted items.
For large, loose household items, residents can either bring them inside or donate them to downsize and reduce clutter and disposal capacity. If that isn't an option, Hillsborough County residential solid waste customers can dispose of up to 2 tons of yard waste and 10 cubic yards (about 3,000 pounds) of bulky household items such as furniture, appliances, and recreation equipment per year at no additional cost at Hillsborough County Solid Waste facilities as part of their annual solid waste assessment. All that residents need is a photo ID and a copy of the latest Hillsborough County Property Tax Bill for the property.
Each week, Hillsborough County residential solid waste customers can set out up to 2 cubic yards (about twelve 30-gallon containers or bags) of normal yard and wood waste for curbside collection. This includes properly sized tree and shrub trimmings. Special bulky waste curbside collection for appliances and large household items is also available. Prices generally range from $30 to $50, based on the size and number of items.
