Dr. Carlos Garcia, clinical psychologist and owner of Tampa Counseling and Wellness, found himself struggling with work- related mental health while starting his practice.
After years of research and attending therapy, Dr. Garcia discovered a passion for coaching and helping others, especially entrepreneurs.
He's partnered with Hillsborough County's Entrepreneur Collaborative Center to lead a monthly workshop geared at helping entrepreneurs and aspiring business owners with their mental health and wellness.
The no-cost monthly workshop, "The Psychology of Being an Entrepreneur," covers:
- The challenges faced by entrepreneurs and business owners
- How these challenges impact the individual and the business
- Strategies on how to manage the stress and difficulties that come with being a business owner
Dr. Garcia says his years of experience in both military and professional organizations has helped teach others how to become more masterful and strategic leaders while achieving a healthier lifestyle in the office, and at home.
In this Mindful Mondays series: "Build a Better Work-Life Balance," Dr. Garcia gives advice on how to ease feelings of stress and anxiety at work, how to recognize mental health-related symptoms, and how to get help.
