Evacuation Order Rescinded

Hillsborough County to Lift Evacuation Order

Hurricane Idalia Update No. 11

Following initial safety assessments after Hurricane Idalia, Hillsborough County Administrator Bonnie M. Wise will rescind the existing Evacuation Order for Zone A effective at 5 p.m. today.

At that time, residents may return to their homes and are asked to drive with caution, pay attention to the roadways, not drive through obstructions or standing water, and stay away from downed power lines. Be aware that some traffic signals may not be functioning. Always remain alert when driving.

Frederick B. Karl County Center and other County facilities that host public-facing services will reopen to the public tomorrow, Aug. 31, on a case-by-case basis pending any damages due to impacts from Hurricane Idalia.
