Overview
Volunteers are always needed to help with various Youth Athletics programs like baseball, cheerleading, football, soccer, and softball.
Guidance
The Athletics Youth Sports Section provides the mandatory, free training for all volunteers and coaches. Classes include the following:
- Concussion Education
- CPR
- First Aid
- AED training
- Emergency Action Plans
- Sportsmanship
- Sexual Predators
- Bullying in Youth Sports
- Reasons We Coach
- Building a Winning Season
Register here for classes. All classes are first come, first served, and class instructors also are volunteers. All classes are good for two years, start promptly at 6:30 p.m. and are held at

Youth sports coaches also can take an online volunteer training course. The cost for the online course is $20, and the training is good for one year.
Eligibility
Volunteers must be at least 18 years old. Florida requires youth sports volunteers to pass background checks. Athletes, parents, and coaches also must comply with Florida law regarding concussions and related sports injuries.
