Public Utilities Lien Inquiries

NOTE: PLEASE PROVIDE AS MUCH INFORMATION IN THE QUESTIONS BELOW TO ENSURE YOUR REQUEST IS PROCESSED QUICKLY. Lien payoff inquiries must be submitted in writing. To inquire about a Property Lien that has been recorded by the Hillsborough County Public Utilities Department, please follow the steps below and submit your request information. By providing complete property records, including the Instrument Number you will greatly assist us in timely processing.

  1. Find your water and wastewater provider
  2. Search the owner name, address or folio number on Public Property Record.
  3. Obtain the lien Instrument Number information in the Clerk of Circuit Court Records
  4. Submit the form.
  5. The Public Utilities Department provides a formal response within 72 hours, 3 business day, on all property inquiries where an actual lien recording has been verified. A lien payoff response is where an Instrument Number has been assigned in the Public Record. All other inquiries, including debt payoff requests will be completed in the order they are received.

NOTE: Very Important Notice: All payoff inquiries NOT related to a Hillsborough County Public Utility Account or Premise are automatically filtered and will be completed in the order they are received. Response times may exceed 72 hours.
