Summer Youth Fire Academy

The Hillsborough County Fire Rescue Foundation offers an exciting opportunity to participate in a free, two week Summer Youth Fire Academy (SYFA). The SYFA is filled with hands-on and classroom activities where you'll learn if you have what it takes to be a first responder. During the two weeks, you will be exposed to a career in the field of firefighting and emergency medicine.

The program is open to any student or graduating senior, ages 14-18, who are interested in a career in Fire Rescue. After the application deadline (typically in Spring,) a Fire Rescue panel will make the final selection of approximately 30 participants for the two week academy.
