Sonora Drive Acquisition Project

Description

The proposed project consists of acquiring a residential property located within the community’s Special Flood Hazard Area (SFHA) to eliminate damages caused by flood losses for a single residential property. All activity will meet National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) requirements including the demolition of the structure, clearing of impervious driveway and other impervious areas within the floodplain, debris removal, abandonment of water wells & septic system, and disconnection of all utilities. The site will be restored to natural conditions and perimeter fencing will be installed pursuant to applicable codes, regulations, and FEMA program requirements.

Funding

The proposed project is eligible for federal funding through FEMA’s Flood Mitigation Assistance Program.
