ADA Transition Plan

In 2018, Hillsborough County Parks & Recreation issued a report on an ADA transition plan for all parks located under their management.

Centers

  • Miller Park & Life Center
    • This recreation center focuses on programming and amenities for people with disabilities through accessibility and eliminating barriers
  • Bakas Equestrian Center
    • Offers horseback riding to children and adults and specializes in those with disabilities including some that are severe and profound

Adaptive Recreation

  • Description: Adaptive Recreation is for kids with special needs and disabilities that may not successfully thrive in a traditional style after school or summer camp environment

Hillsborough County Special Olympics

  • Description: Hillsborough County Special Olympics  provides year round sports training and competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for people with intellectual disabilities
  • Sports: Basketball, Bocce, Bowling, Cycling, Swimming, Triathlons, Volleyball

HC Adaptive Sports

  • Description: HC Adaptive Sports Promotes health, independence and personal growth through sports for people with physical disabilities
  • Sports: Archery, Basketball, Cycling, Golf, Sit Volleyball, Swimming, Track and Field

Wheelchair Basketball – Strong Dogs

  • Description: The Tampa Bay Strong Dogs features disabled students (16+), veterans and members of the community who have a genuine love for the game of basketball and a passion for staying involved in adaptive sports and fitness opportunities

Wheelchair Football
